I'm even slower. Never heard any of them although I'm sure I've heard the odd single from some of them down the pub or on the radio. But then I haven't bought a new album this century so I don't reckon that this is my world.

Like Paul, I haven't heard any of the above. Might give Them Crooked Vultures a try.

Oh, those Honey Brothers. Going places, aren't they?

I take it you're not a Wilco fan - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot I'm still listening to.

Sasha Fierce is like an old fashioned album from the 80's chock full of hits.

Its long! But I liked it. You cant be living in England and not have heard Lily Allen. I just dont believe that.

According to their website they got an article in Spin Magazine so that cant be bad.

Picked them this time last year, also they just missed out on my list but somehow still ended up as a tag!

Couple of little things here:

I got a nice email from the people at the Steampunk Emporium not offering me free clothes alas but pointing this forum.

Also if you like first class swearing and you can follow a Scottish accent then you might enjoy the new series of The Thick of It which someone has now posted on YouTube

coupla science books that do a good explaining job:

The Elegant Universe

The Goldilocks Enigma

I didn't see any of the remastered Beatles albums on your list. How much money to you figure they've made selling the same albums to the same people but in different formats? Brilliant.

seana said...

Sjdevine, the answer you are looking for may be found here.

That steampunk forums site seems pretty active. I guess these people are serious about it.

Thank for the science book suggestions. I know the titles, not the contents.

Swearing isn't my particular art form, but on the other hand it doesn't put me off, unless, of course, it's directed at me. I'll try to check out that Thick of It show when I get a chance.

I was in the barber yesterday and I read an interview with Pete Best in Uncut Magazine. Strangely enough I think Pete is the happiest of all of them.

The Brian Greene book and its sequel are both good.

that Bill Bryson one is a not bad audiobook.

Jay Z and Beyonce?

At least Beyonce has visual assets for a straight man, but...ugh.

seana said...

Oh, Marco. I was just waiting for you to chime in.

I dont know how I found this Beyonce album so late.

Halo, If I Were A Boy, Put a Ring On It - 3 epic tracks.

And Beyonce's not better half Jay Z? Again 3 epics in: Empire State of Mind, Run This Town, DOA

I've just started reading your books, Adrian and found the God Bless the Girl album and The Blueprint 3 became my 'soundtracks' to Dead I May Well Be

adrian mckinty said...

Rob

Do you mean God Help The Girl?

If so I have to agree. I'm a big fan of Belle & Sebastian but I wonder how much of my affection for GHTG is really just pervy attraction for Catherine Ireton and her voice?

I like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bird and the Bee, Jay-Z and Beyonce. Nice taste, sir.

I thought I was the only one who had even heard of the Bird and Bee. Yeah they're good arent they?

Liam Hoyle said...

Yeah, very unique, great beats. My wife introduced me to them. Especially like Polite Dance Song and the Rihanna cover.
