Very nice. Is it called summer solstice, there, then? And we're having the longest night tonight. I'd say I'd rather be you, but then I'm going to a gloog drinking party tonight, so maybe not. I might wish I had been you tomorrow, though.

I had dinner with a friend of a friend who's a Wiccan last night and she was telling us all about the Yule log tradition where you tie yarns to the log that represent things you no longer want in your life and then focus on the things you want to bring in--wasn't clear if there was yarn involved in that too. Seemed like a nice end of the year ritual, but I don't have a fireplace, so probably not a good idea.

Happy Solstice to all who pass this way.

On the National Geographic Channel I saw this docu about Stone Henge where they claimed that the Winter Solstice is the most important festival of the year.

Happy Solstice to you, Seana. And to you, Adrian. And to anyone else who reads this fun blog. And have a great holiday.

Adrian, many of my friends will be receiving 50 Grand for Christmas. Not that I have so many friends, but you're more than likely to have a few more fans before the new year.

You are after my own heart you son of a gun you.

I can think of many better Christmas gifts that 50G but nothing that that would better improve the McKinty family coffers - the poor wee cratturs.

Incidentally just out of shot in that photo or actually just in the shot on the far right (but with its light turned off) was a Victoria Police random drug testing vehicle. Motorists were stopped at random and subjected to a random drugs test.

Be fortunate if you live in the US where you are protected from such gross incivilities by the Fourth Amendment.
