I Am Love was marvellous, wasn't it. I'm determined to read True Grit before it comes out. Must buy it first though!

Just watched Animal Kingdom on DVD tonight - I think it might be one of a kind, I cannot see how Michod could turn this into a signature style. Remarkable. And I want to see Winter's Bone as well.
I have seen other films, but I'm drawing a blank for remarkable ones right now. Certainly haven't seen as many as I used to - I need a new video rental service.

dear me, incoherence. I mean, I want to read Portis' novel before the Coen brothers' film comes out:d

Not many people saw I Am Love but I really thought it was great.

And yes I should add Animal Kingdom to my list of the films I'm looking forward to.

I Am Love looks right up my street. Ive never heard of it untill now. Tad concerned that you put a Nic Cage film at the top of your liked list..hmmm

It will change everything you ever thought about Cage.

Im thinking about Con Air, he had some seriously cheese on toast lines in that. I'll give it a go but no promises.

Robin Hood was my biggest let-down and I cant wait to see Black Swan.

I enjoyed Winter's Bone, which, in the beginning surprised me.

My least favorite of the year would have to Inception, with Avatar a close second.

We saw The Voyage of the Dawn Treader last night and I really liked it.

Are you happy now that you came from a land where it's summer and landed in the middle of a blizzard, ya buck eejit?

I didn't enjoy that many films this year...certainly not many on the common top 10 lists, eg Inception, TSN, The Town, blah blah blah.

Did you see Restrepo, Adrian? That was quite good I thought.

Frank

Yeah I missed Con Air thank goodness

I blocked out Avatar. What a nightmare that was.

We took a bus from Boston to NY in the heart of the blizzard.

a 4 and ahalf hour bus journey took 8 and a half hours.

Building interesting childhood memories that was our goal.

Thanks for your "best of" movie list.

I was able to find and reserve "Winter's Bone," "Mother," and "I am Love," at our local library.

"About Elly" was not in the catalogue, so will wait for that.

A close relative affirmed your opinion of "Winter's Bone."

Thanks for the library, which at this point, still has a budget for new books and dvd's.

You'll get a real feel from those of the films I like: maybe not very linear story arcs but strong performances and terrific atmosphere.

Speaking of movies, I've been watching old black/white classics with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, which are great.

Are there any new scenes that compare with Lionel Barrymore, Humphrey Bogart and Edward G. Robinson hassling it out?

I have one left, then am on the hunt for more old movie mystery classics at the library, and new movies that have quickly gone to dvd.

Winter's Bone is waiting for me now and so is I Am Love. Can't wait.
