Like a sad sack supporting character from the Big Bang Theory much of my information about the outside world comes from the guy who runs the comic book shop on Chapel Street. It was he who informed me that Alan Moore (Watchman, V For Vendetta, Swamp Thing, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen)'s new comic League III 2009 will feature Malcolm Tucker as one of its lead characters. It's going to be fascinating to see what Moore does with Tucker who will be reprising his role as chief enforcer for the fictional PM Tom Rudd. Apparently the US President will be Jed Bartlett in this universe so I for one am hoping for a showdown between Tucker and either Toby or Josh or both of them. If you don't know who Malcolm Tucker is here's a little primer of the man in action. Play this at work I dare you:

Interesting interview with Alan Moore about V for Vendetta here:

I played it at work. Of course, I work at home, which lessened the risk considerably.
There are some classic lines in there.
Dana
I think the Scottish accent helps too doesn't it? Which of course wont come through in the comic.
Tucker is a genius character. Capaldi plays the part to perfection. Nothing like a shouting, sweary Scot to terrify people.
Remy
The scenes with Tucker and the equally terrifying Jamie McDonald teaming up on someone are the most frightening of all.
I'm even more sad sack than you are. I'm not even sure exactly what The Big Bang Theory is.

But you do know what Blue Peter is though dont you?
I didn't know who Blue Peter was, but I did wear a crossing guard badge when I was a child for awhile. No lives were lost, but it was a close thing.
I did know who Max Tucker was. I like him a lot better than Jed Bartlett, or anyone on West Wing, for that matter.

Blue Peter was/is a British TV show where very good children got a special Blue Peter badge.
I actually got one once and gave it away to a kid who nagged me about it for a couple of years.
I had to look up Blue Peter.
I ma take a while longer to respond to comments since one of the apparent features of Blogger's "improvements" is that it no longer allows a commenter to choose to be notified of further comments on post.

I noticed that too, Peter.
I am not surprised you got a badge, Adrian.
Shoot. I called him Max Tucker, not Malcolm. It's pretty clear I am confusing him with Tucker Max, of I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell fame. It is pretty clear to me that he will get no Blue Peter badges, and that he won't care.
