Been in Ireland for the last few days doing interviews for Radio, print and TV. The ones that have a play again facility I've linked to below.
My interview with Kim Lenaghan on BBC Radio Ulster, here (I'm on the 11/01/13 programme, beginning about half way in)
My interview with Matt Cooper on Today FM, here, (there's also a link through to iTunes where you can download the podcast if you want).
An interview on RTE's ARENA (you have to listen to the whole programme, but I'm on there somewhere)
I havent listened to any of these but I assume they work and its me and not an imposter. If not please let me know. Eventually these links will expire so get em while they're hot!

Finished reading Sirens last night at midnight. Excellent yarn, and fascinating coverage of recent history - DeLorean especially. The unremitting misery and suffering caused by 'low level' civil war came over extremely well. And Epicurus too!
I'll listen to these interviews now - hope sales go well
Deb
Thanks for that!
If you could possibly leave me a review somewhere I'd be SO grateful.
Yeah Epicurus, he's the man...
Will do - have linked book on fb - where's best? I did Amazon last time
It's just arrived this morning and it'll be next on the list to be read.
Good interview with Radio Ulster as well.Sounds like a busy few days already.I'll try and stick a review on amazon over the next couple of weeks.
Thanks for the links. Should make doing things around the house a lot more interesting today.
Deb
Yeah Amazon's great. Thats where those pesky sock puppets/trolls went after me last time.
Thank you!
Paul
Yeah it was a nice interview at Radio Ulster. Kim's always good and she actually listens to your answers rather than just reading off a list of questions.
Seana
I just hope they work. Not a big fan of listening to myself so I havent actually tested them.
I listened to the first one and it turned out very well, although people will probably wonder why you met Stuart in Seattle if you're living in Melbourne. You have a nice lively style that is somewhat at odds with your more dour persona here, but works well on radio. People should know the interview is about halfway through, so that they don't have to suffer through another 'analysis' of Les Miz, the movie. And it's only on for six days so go there now.
I'll listen to the others too, but forgot that in reality I can't do anything while listening to anything spoken but just end up sitting down and listening to it, so will have to wait till I actually accomplish something here.
Seana
I'll mention that it begins half way in in the post, no one needs to sit through any more Les Miserables stuff.
There is also a little segment on an art installation, but that is brief and relatively painless. That might be halfway through, but if you catch that, you're almost there.
Just listened to the others, which were both really good. You don't have to listen to the whole Arena show, just hit 'view the program' and it will take you right to the segment.
I take exception to the idea that Americans don't understand a dry sense of humor, though.
I know that interviewers have to ask something, but I don't really understand why they have to always ask why Duffy would be Catholic. How would you write a novel about that era that is supposed to say something about the whole if it didn't have any Catholic characters?
Seana
I think what I meant to say there is that the dry black humour of the Carrick cops is probably lost on the Yanks. Its a very very dry bitingly mordant black humour we have here in Carrick and even people in Belfast dont get it sometimes.
That sounds pretty dry, but I bet the humor of Larne is drier.
Sorry--Bateman isn't here to say it.
Have you tweeted the links? Because you should.
Seana
In Larne you'd really need a good sense of humour to get through the day.
Meant to ask if there are any readings anywhere?
Paul
Nah quick in and out...
Adrian, Matt Cooper is Today FM rather than RTE, just in case your ever meeting again...you know how the radio guys get all protective about their stations.
CJ
Yikes!
Um better fix that.
Nice to hear these & loved the mercury tilt story: so typical how we can fall into that kind of complacency.
Are you in Ireland and the UK much longer? Planning on any signing sessions?
I already have sirens on my kindle but could stretch to another (real) copy
Gog
Nah, I'm already in England and on my way back to sunny Seattle.
Next time though I'll organise it better so there's time for readings/singings, I promise...
Not sure if you're aware that you've been long listed for the Last Laugh Award at Crimefest.

Col,
Thanks mate, I had no idea....
Enjoyed the Radio Ulster interview. You came across brilliantly. However, a couple of things played with my intolerant mind:
1. I grew up in Essex and have no problem finding a source of inspiration because of this. Violence, thin culture and bad taste have generated a deep and life-long oppositional response in me. Plenty of great stories specific to Essex culture to tell, too.
2. DeLorean cars never 'gleamed'. They had brushed stainless steel panels. So, the outside of the car was dull, the rest of it was horrific.
Still, can't wait to read the book.
Alan
Al
Yeah good point about the DeL's. And to gleam they would need your actual sunshine wouldnt they? Something which was in short supply in Belfast.
I do wonder what happened to the thousands of ungleaming cars that were sitting in the carpark at Belfast docks for years and years. Scrapped? Sold to collectors? Sold for parts?
