The Land Of Beer and Chocolate

If, like me, you're into beer and chocolate you really need to go to Belgium. 700+ types of beer, 100+ types of chocolate. Belgium has been invaded 4 times in last hundred years or so (1870, 1914, 1940, 1944). Its government is always falling apart. It is horribly divided into a French and Flemish part. And yet Belgium still somehow hangs in there. The deluded madmen of Isis won't change any of that. One of my favourite appreciations of Belgium is by the English architectural critic Jonathan Meades.
