My Best Fiend

With the permission of Werner Herzog, the entire documentary My Best Fiend has been posted on YouTube. Its a good introduction to Herzog and especially to his extraordinary work with the mercurial Klaus Kinski. Dont be put off by the first two minutes, the documentary is in English.

Fantastic film. Love Herzog and love this film.

It's oddly compelling isn't it? I think Herzog is being overly generous though dont you? Kinski sounds like a maniac.

The best bit for me is when they had to recast Fitzcaralldo and they showed you the scenes with Mick Jagger and compared them to the identical scene with Kinski. Man that guy could act.

Er, Kinski, not Jagger.

I should say that if you double click the picture it takes you to the YouTube site where the movie is in widescreen format and is quite pleasant to watch...

Oh, I'd have blown Kinski up. Or let the Indians have him. Have you seen 'Werner Herzog Ate My Shoe'?

That's good fun.

I just watched it on YouTube. It was very good but I thought Errol Morris should have at least showed up, no? I would.
